A memorable event combining the 4th Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame (SWHF) induction ceremony and International Women’s Day gala dinner, was held on the 24th March 2017 at the Shangri-La Hotel. The Guest of Honor, was the First Lady, Mrs Mary Tan.
The Association of Women Doctors took a table and proudly cheered on their Past President, Dr June Goh, as she gave her speech as President of the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations. We applauded the ladies who were inducted into the SWHF including Theresa Chan Poh Lin who established herself as the Helen Keller of Southeast Asia with her resilience for life after losing both hearing and sight to meningitis in childhood. The highlights of the evening included the performances put up by young dancers from Kids Performing Academy of the Arts as well as the vibrant Rahimah Rahim, Singapore’s first lady of song.
Needless to say, the AWDS ladies enjoyed the company of fellow women groups,
in a fabulous evening where conversation flowed freely and laughter was heard in every corner.
