SCWO International Women’s Day 2015 gala dinner

by | 27 March 2015

The Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) held its International Women’s Day gala dinner at the Fullerton Hotel on March 27th to honor past contributions of women who were inducted into the Singapore Women’s Hall of Fame, which helped to shape the future of the nation.

The mood of the evening was somber as the country was observing a period of national mourning following the death of former prime minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew. In fact, both SCWO president Ms Malathi Das and Guest of Honor Madam Halimah Yacob honored the memory of Mr Lee in their speeches.

A specially produced video featuring the ladies in the Hall of Fame was then screened to showcase female pioneers in various fields. Apart from the opportunity to meet their personal heroes, guests also appreciated the chance to bond with other like-minded women groups and of course, enjoy the specially crafted menu for the evening. Friendships were forged and networks were established.

It was plain to see that guests were fired up by the night’s theme:

Imagination, Inspiration and Action!
