REMEMBERING OUR FOUNDERS: THE MAKING OF A MEMORIAL

The Founders’ Memorial Committee was formed in June 2015 to gather views from the public and to conceptualise a memorial to honour the values and ideals of Singapore’s founding generation of leaders. Through 2 phases of engagements, over 80% of participants have expressed support for a Founder’s Memorial, and 72% have stated their preference for Gardens by the Bay’s Bay East Garden as the site for the memorial. To bring the process of engagement to a wider audience and to encourage more Singaporeans to contribute their views, a Public Showcase entitled “Remembering our Founders – The Making of a Memorial” has been launched, with details as follows:

Duration : 14-30 March 2017; 1-30 April 2017 (closed on 31 March 2017)
Opening Hours : 10am-8pm on weekdays; 9am-9pm on weekends
Venue : Waterview Room, Gardens by the Bay (next to the entrance of the Flower Dome)
Admission is free and we will be offering free guided tours of the Showcase and scenic site tours to Bay East Garden.  More information is available at  https://www.foundersmemorial.sg/.

In addition, they can arrange for guided tours for organised groups, especially on weekdays when crowds are not at their peak. To arrange for guided tours for groups, please get in touch with MCCY staff, Ms Yvonne Chong (DID: 68379405, email: [email protected]). They will be happy to facilitate your group visit.
