22 August 2008: AWDS Night at Singapore International Jewellery Show

On 22nd August 2008, organizers of the Singapore International Jewellery Show 2008 reserved an evening exclusively for AWDS members & friends. Held at the Suntec City Convention Centre, AWDS members Dr June Goh, Dr Manju Chandran, Dr Iroshini Chua, and Dr Loh May Han and others were in attendance. There was a special VIP area cordoned off inside the main hall where AWDS members were treated to beautiful art by Thomas Diego Armonia, who made a guest appearance himself, as well as a wonderful collection of gems, pearls and exquisitely designed jewellery from the various exhibitors. An informative speech on jewellery shopping tips was given by Mr Eric Wong, a consultant gemologist. Topping off the wonderful and very informative meeting, a lucky draw was held and Dr Iroshini Chua walked away with the 1st prize, a one night stay at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Singapore.
