7 March 2009: “Successful Women, Successful Economies” International Women’s Day Power Lunch, Pan Pacific Singapore
Annually on the 8th of March, women around the world celebrate International Women’s Day. This date is commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. Women on all continents – often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, language, cultural, economic and other differences, come together to mark the milestones women have achieved from the right to be educated to getting proper health care and many other accomplishments. The day also reminds all women on what our past women have done and what more needs to be done.
The Power Lunch is a signature event of SCWO on International Women’s Day and is often the central programme of many women’s organizations. They support the event by broadcasting the event to their members and purchase tables. Our reach in 350, 000 women via direct marketing and more via the media – Today, Straits Times and the different radio stations.
The highlight of the programme was the line-up of successful and exceptional women entrepreneurs, chief executive officers and chairpersons of multi-national corporations in the public sector.
